Pertama, sistem operasi minimum harus Windows 8.1 64-bit. Prasyarat ini termasuk mudah dipenuhi karena sebagian besar PC sudah menggunakan Windows 10.   Di prosesor dan kartu grafis, setidaknya PC yang memainkannya harus menggunakan Intel i5-3570K atau AMD FX-8350. Kartu grafisnya sudah bisa mengandalkan NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 VRAM 2GB atau AMD Radeon R9 280X VRAM 3GB.   Soundcard  yang diminta harus mendukung DirectX dan sudah mengusung versi DirectX12. Menyoal kapasitas memori yang harus disediakan, DreadOut 2 hanya meminta ruang 10GB.   Digital Happiness belum menyertakan spesifikasi yang direkomendasikan termasuk resolusi grafis game yang bisa disajikan, apakah sudah bisa mendukung 4K atau belum. DreadOut 2 sendiri dibangun dengan game engine jenis Unreal Engine dari Epic Games.   Berdasarkan video  gameplay , kualitas grafis DreadOut 2 lebih baik dari seri pertamanya.  Gameplay  yang disajikan juga lebih luas.
